The Day

Venue:

Ben and I made the decision in May 2021 we wanted a small intimate wedding that would be incredibly special for each of our guests. When we got engaged in Dec 2020 we stayed at The Grand Central and fell in love with the hotel so when looking for a venue for our Micro wedding Grand Central it was a very natural choice for us. My grandparents had got married in the original Grand Central hotel in the early 1950’s so this made it even more special for Ben and I. Bens Family are from England so another important aspect of the wedding was having the right hotel for our guests to stay in while they were in N Ireland and with discounted wedding rate rooms we were able to give everyone a luxury stay in the hotel, and the rooms are beautiful, views over the city made it even more special for all our guests and the workman wedding suite is fantastic, it was bigger than our apartment!

 

The Room:

I met with Patrice in May to review the wedding packages and available rooms, we choose the Panorama room on the 2nd floor as our venue, we only had 17 guests so we opted for one long table which was perfect. We dressed the room with drapes, lights, dance floor and a mesh backdrop to complete the look. The room was the perfect size, we had our own bar and cloakroom.

 

What food you chose:

Wedding food typically if you have very large numbers can be bland and overcooked, not at Grand Central, every single dish that was served was delicious, tasty, moreish and full of flavour, my mother in law still talks about her dessert.

 

What did you think about the Price:

The beauty of a smaller wedding is that you get to set the budget, and because we had small numbers we were able to treat people to lovely luxuries to make their day as special as ours. It is such good value for money and the quality of the produce, staff, hotel and overall support is worth every penny.

 

The Staff:

Every single member of staff was amazing on the day, all of our guests commented on how friendly, pleasant and helpful the staff were, they are a credit to the hotel. I was in regular contact with Suzanne the Events Manager who was super helpful and accommodating, you are in safe hands and that is important.

Any Final Words:

Honestly I can’t thank the Hotel enough, everyone I know/ meet who have seen the pictures and heard about the wedding have commented on how wonderful it looked, how the day felt very ‘us’, and that the Micro wedding is the way forward. I couldn’t agree more, having a smaller wedding makes every single one of your guests feel so special that they get to share the day with you, you don’t get lost in a room of 200. If you want a classic, beautifully curated wedding then you simply must have it at Grand Central!
